2015 was strange…and lovely!

As 2016 moves into full swing, I’m ready to move on from everyone’s ‘best of’ lists that consumed my social media feeds back in December. Don’t get me wrong, I read plenty of them but at some point, let’s just try to learn what we can from 2015 and move on. Let me be clear – I think review and reflection are important, but instead of over-analyzing what happened months (or years) ago, let’s just make sure we don’t make the same mistakes again and move on to bigger and better solutions. There’s always room for improvement, so let’s find the solution.

For starters, I’m not much for dwelling on the past. Partially because I know I can’t change things and partially because I really try to focus on what’s ahead of me. Maybe it’s terrible short-term memory, or maybe it’s a lame Jedi-mind trick of always looking ahead. Regardless, I think it boils down to simply choosing to be mentally strong and positive, yet open-minded. Also, don’t let setbacks completely derail your mentality and focus. There are always going to be hurdles. Always. But there are also always going to be sensible solutions. There are amazing people all around you; let them help. They’ll need help someday too; be ready to lend them a hand.

2015 was a bit of a rollercoaster ride here at Caliber. Some ups, some downs, and a couple of surprises once it was all said and done. Some of those rides we’ll get back in line for, some we will not. Some rides are worth the price of admission, some rides just make us nauseous even thinking about it again. At the end of the day, when we look back, we’re glad we were along for the ride. 2016 is sure to hold some surprises as well, hopefully we’ll just be better prepared.

I could bore you with numbers, facts, and other stat-related things showing how our company fared in 2015, but I’ll be honest; I’m not much for numbers and I really can’t remember any numbers important enough to tell you about. 2016 will be a great year for Caliber; I’m sure of it. I’m too stubborn to think otherwise and I can’t wait to tell you all about it next year.
