Culture Is A Job. Lots of Jobs, Really.
By Casey Schultz, Agency Partner

Let’s face it, no one wants a job. But believe it or not, all of our past jobs have a direct impact on shaping the culture of Caliber Creative. Having a solid company culture is all the rage, especially in the creative services world. Every trendy agency has a ping-pong table, beer on tap, endless snacks and plenty of reasons to take the team out for lunch. At the end of the day, none of those things really make up company culture, at least not at Caliber (our foosball table is pretty dusty).
I’m a firm believer that our people make up our company culture. We’ve all had jobs. Jobs are obviously different than careers. I’m sure we can all think back to a job that we didn’t particularly care for (me: drilling holes in cedar 4×4 posts for swing sets), but none-the-less, we did the very best we could and made sure our tasks were completed to the best of our ability. That passion, drive and commitment (no matter the task) is what makes our team special.
Caliber is a tight-knit group of people that have a ‘roll-up your sleeves’ mentality who are all willing to pitch in wherever needed to get things done. This mentality is likely a result of past jobs that left us wanting more, something bigger than just a paycheck and being a part of a team that is committed to giving their best effort towards everything they do. By having an office full of these like-minded people, our company culture continues to naturally evolve and grow stronger.
We’re constantly striving to build our company culture, which really means we’re continually making sure we have the best team members we can find. If we continue to add the best candidates to our team, the culture at Caliber will only get that much better. Looking ahead, I can’t wait to see our culture blossom. In the meantime, I’m accepting challengers at the foosball table.
