Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
By Casey Schultz, Agency Partner

Over the summer, the Caliber team was really busy preparing for a big event for one of our clients, Producers Hybrids. Each summer, they host their National Sales Kickoff Meetings. It’s a big deal, and we love being a part of it. Each year we try to out-do ourselves in hopes that each and every year is bigger and better. This year the event was amazing and we may have outdone ourselves (in my opinion).
This event is certainly no walk in the park and as with anything like this, there are always a few last-minute curveballs and hiccups. We planned, strategized, designed, coordinated and installed over the course of a few months all in hopes to pull off a special event for our clients, especially this year celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Producers Hybrids brand. No pressure.
I could go on and on about how cool the videos and lights were, or how awesome all the speakers were, or even just the fun we had interacting with our clients and some of their staff, but what’s stuck in my head is the sense of pride and purpose that the management team at Producers kept throughout this whole event, starting back at day one of planning and picking a date.

Being the 30th anniversary of the brand, the Producers leadership decided to host the annual event right in their own backyard. Awesome, love the idea. Now to be clear, when we decided the middle of rural Nebraska as our location we all understood that were some new challenges that came along with this. See, in years past, we’ve held these events in convention centers, resorts, large venues that were made for large events like this. This year? We got a dusty seed shed to work with.
Like any other project we take on, big or small, we rolled up our sleeves and went to work. The Producers team did a great job of getting the facility in tip top shape, cleaned up and even made some improvements to the space so we were prepared to put on one heck of an event for their team.
This is where the pride and purpose comes in. Not once did any of us complain about the situation, instead we all kept the purpose in mind as well as the vision of just how great this could be if we can pull it off as well as we were hoping. Not once did any of us settle for ‘good enough’ along the way. This event is the one time when they will have a captive and engaged audience, so we all knew we owed it to them to make this special and show them we care about them, just like they care about the Producers Hybrids brand. It’s a two-way street and if we were to settle for anything less than great, the rest of the team would have followed suit and no one wants to be average, at least not amongst this group.
The Producers team had another great event and we were proud to help them out. Their team certainly deserves a lot of credit and they were great to work with. I’m particularly proud of our team in our efforts to help every step of the way. It certainly makes everything go much smoother when there is mutual trust and respect between client and agency as well as knowing we’ve got the team and talent to pull off any task we’re faced with. We’re looking forward to the next one.
