Meet Mikena

It’s that time of year. The leaves are changing colors. The bosses are wearing camouflage. And Caliber has a new face around the office.

My name is Mikena and I am a fellow graduate from South Dakota State University, where I majored in advertising and minored in marketing. I’m a Sioux Falls native, with a passion for rescue dogs, communication and social media. I realized my sophomore year of college that marketing could really be something that I could rock at. I love being creative, learning about other companies, and working in a casual environment (I am not cut out for the cubicle life).

Before transferring to the agency side of marketing, I worked for a wedding publication where I was responsible for creating blog content, being a stagehand at styled photoshoots, and became a whiz at Photoshop. I also have previous experience working for a local boutique as an employee and brand ambassador. As a brand ambassador, I was the face of the company. I kept my personal social media pages fresh and up to date by consistently uploading to my profile using curated hashtags that created brand awareness for the boutique.

When I began looking for a new opportunity within an agency, I stumbled upon Caliber by chance. Now that I have been initiated into the Caliber crew, I am involved in all aspects of the agency: I am the tag along to meetings. I am the voice behind the social media posts. I am the face that greets you when Kelly is gone. And I am secretly helping with a lot of client projects behind the scenes along side the Caliber team.

I am still learning the ropes to this place and getting up to speed on clientele, but I love this agency and the people in it, and couldn’t have found a better agency for where I’m at within my career.
